A complete guide to camping in Jackson

Jackson sits at 6,237 feet in the Jackson Hole valley, hemmed between the Teton Range to the west and the Gros Ventre Range to the east. Grand Teton National Park begins at the town's northern edge, and Yellowstone's South Entrance is 57 miles north. The valley floor is flat with the Tetons rising 7,000 feet above it in one of the most dramatic mountain walls in North America.
Inside Grand Teton National Park, Gros Ventre Campground in Kelly provides the largest park campground with 300 sites along the Gros Ventre River. Colter Bay Campground and RV Park in Moran sits on Jackson Lake's eastern shore with boat launch access. Signal Mountain Campground perches above the lake with smaller, more secluded sites. Jenny Lake Campground near Moose is tent-only and the most competitive site in the park, sitting at the base of the Tetons with direct trail access to Cascade Canyon.
In the Jackson area, Virginian RV Park provides in-town full-hookup sites within walking distance of the town square. Kozy Campground offers a smaller alternative closer to the park boundary. East Table Creek Campground and Hoback Campground sit along the Hoback River south of town in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Granite Creek Campground and the adjacent Granite Hot Springs put campers at a natural hot spring in an alpine valley 25 miles southeast, one of the most scenic campground settings in the region.
