Union Flat Campground is a scenic riverside campground located on the North Yuba River in Tahoe National Forest, near Highway 49. The campground stretches along the north bank of the river, with a tumbled rock wall from early gold dredging activity separating campsites from the water. A diverse forest of pine, fir, maple, and oak trees provides shade throughout the area. The campground offers several single-family campsites and one double site, with some designated for tent camping only. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring, with vault toilets available. Visitors enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities including hiking, hunting, fishing, swimming, wading, canoeing, gold panning, and seasonal rafting, tubing, and kayaking on the North Yuba River.
