Turtle Rock Campground is a small, rustic 24-site campground located at 8,290 feet elevation, 3.5 miles north of Buena Vista, Colorado. Nestled within a pinon pine and juniper woodland setting at the base of the prominent Turtle Rock Granite Formation, the campground offers stunning views of the Collegiate Peaks Mountains and the Upper Arkansas River Valley. The campground is ideal for tent camping and small RVs (under 35 feet), with most sites designed for tent or van camping and some pull-through options available. Open from March through November, Turtle Rock provides easy access to the Fourmile Recreation Area and Arkansas Headwater Recreation Area, making it a gateway to diverse outdoor activities. The campground is primitive, with no hookups, potable water, or trash services, requiring visitors to be self-sufficient. It's a popular destination for rock climbers, hikers, mountain bikers, and OHV enthusiasts seeking adventure in Central Colorado's iconic recreation landscape.
