Thunder BRidge is a 100-acre campground located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, bordering the Jefferson National Forest. The property has a rich history, originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s-40s and later serving as a boys' camp before closing in 2009. Today, it features scenic tent sites and cabins nestled in the woods, many bordering Elk Creek, along with RV sites in a well-maintained open green space. The front of the property hosts artist studios for 16 local artists, creating a vibrant community atmosphere. The location offers exceptional access to numerous regional attractions including the Natural Bridge, wineries, breweries, the Natural Bridge Zoo, Safari Park, Dinosaur Kingdom, the Appalachian Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, James River, historic Lexington, and various outdoor recreation areas.
