Seneca Shadows Campground is a modern facility nestled in the river valley of Monongahela National Forest, offering stunning views of the iconic 900-foot Seneca Rocks from most campsites. Located in the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia, the campground is surrounded by mountains on both the east and west, creating a scenic backdrop for outdoor recreation. The area is renowned for rock climbing and hiking, with the popular Seneca Rocks trail accessible directly across the street from the campground. Visitors can enjoy fishing on the nearby North Fork South Branch Potomac River, explore two local caves, and take advantage of the Seneca Rocks Visitor Center with its catch-and-release fishing area and educational displays. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through late October and serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the region's scenic roadways, particularly during fall foliage season.
