The Schoolcraft Township Big Traverse Bay Rustic Campground is located on Keweenaw's south shore, on the sandy shores of Lake Superior facing east for magnificent sunrises. The park has 8 rustic tent sites with fire rings and 2 rustic RV sites without hookups. The campground is close to the boat launch at Big Traverse and the beautiful Big Traverse Day Park. The sand is like sugar and the beach is approximately 3 miles long, plenty of room to swim and play. Wild blueberries and huckleberries abound in late August. This is a beautiful campground, a hidden secret of the Copper Country.
