About

Roanoke River Partners, Inc. was formed to support on-going efforts to develop and promote responsible nature and heritage tourism throughout our beautiful six-county region which borders the Roanoke River from our Virginia border to the Albemarle Sound. The Roanoke River region has joined forces with Outdoor NC to inspire stewardship in the area’s outdoor spaces. Together, we can protect nature and cultural heritage through Leave No Trace principles. We invite all to explore, enjoy, and help preserve the wild and storied trails along this great river. The region has a rich history, with many communities along the river, including Bear Grass, Edenton, Halifax, Hamilton, Hobgood, Jackson, Jamesville, Oak City, Parmele, Plymouth, Robersonville, Scotland Neck, Weldon, Williamston, and Windsor. Roanoke River Partners and Explore Martin County have joined forces with Outdoor NC to champion sustainable tourism and outdoor recreation. This collaboration highlights seven breathtaking trails in the region, featured in Outdoor NC's Trail Town Guide. Together, we can promote responsible nature and heritage tourism, protect the environment, and preserve the region's rich cultural heritage.
