Roan Mountain State Park is a 106-site campground located in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. The park offers 86 RV sites with hookups and 20 tent sites. Each campsite is equipped with a grill and picnic table. The park experienced significant damage from Hurricane Helene in September 2024, and portions of the park are currently closed to the public for safety. Visitors must exercise extreme caution as many trails have seen extensive damage. The park is working hard to restore and rebuild its facilities. The park store and laundry facility are currently closed for the season and will reopen on April 15, 2026. The TDOT is developing plans to replace the bridge that provides access to the upper campground loops, which may cause inconvenience for reservations. The park is open with significant closures, and visitors are asked to bear with the park staff as they work to restore and rebuild the park. The park offers a variety of activities, including boating, camping, education, fishing, golfing, hiking, horseback riding, paddling, rock climbing, swimming, and volunteering. The park also offers cabin rentals, picnic shelters, guided tours, and events and programs.
