Ponderosa Campground and Cabins is a scenic riverside destination located in Antonito, Colorado, at 8,600 feet elevation along the Conejos River. Surrounded by National Forest and bordered by beautiful pine, aspen, and cottonwood trees, the campground offers 20 RV sites and 6 cabins, with four cabins featuring a bedroom, kitchen, and bath, and two offering kitchenette and sleeping accommodations. The property provides excellent opportunities for fly fishing (catch and release), hiking, biking, jeeping, and ATVing. Guests can enjoy on-site amenities including a small store, fly fishing supplies and licenses, laundry facilities, and clean restrooms. The location offers easy access to the historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Train, the highest and longest narrow-gauge railroad in North America, and the Los Caminos Antiguos Scenic Byway, which follows Spanish Conqueror trails. The campground is open seasonally from June 1 through September 30.
