Base Camp Family Campground is located in Alamosa, Colorado at an elevation of 7,500 feet in the largest alpine valley in the world. The campground offers spectacular 360-degree views of the Sangre De Cristo, Sawatch, San Juan, and Taos Plateau mountain ranges, with peaks reaching 14,000 feet. Open year-round with average summer temperatures of 65 degrees, Base Camp features the largest pull-through RV sites in the area (100' x 40'), big-rig-friendly angled sites, boondock options, tent sites, and dry cabins with electric only. The campground is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, and near other attractions including Zapata Falls, Blanca Peak trail, Rio Grande River fishing, natural hot springs, and the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, coin laundry, private showers, vending, ice and firewood delivery, and sand board rentals.
