Great Sand Dunes Oasis is the gateway to recreation at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve, located on the eastern side of the remote San Luis Valley in Colorado between the Blanca Massif and Crestone Needle. The park sits at the entrance to the Great Sand Dunes, home to the tallest sand dunes in North America, which cover approximately 39 square miles and rise almost 750 feet above the valley floor. The facility offers spectacular views of the sand dunes and San Luis Valley, along with comprehensive amenities including a restaurant, grocery store, gas station, and gift shop. Visitors can enjoy sandboard and sled rentals, making it an ideal base for exploring this unique high-mountain landscape shaped by millennia of wind and erosion from the surrounding San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
