North of Highland Camping Area is Cape Cod's premier tent-focused campground located in scenic North Truro, Massachusetts, nestled among the famously twisted pitch pine trees of the outer cape. Operating since 1954, the campground is completely surrounded by the Cape Cod National Seashore Park and offers a peaceful, authentic camping experience less than a half-mile walk from the beautiful Head of the Meadow Ocean Beach. The campground prioritizes a natural camping environment over glamping, welcoming tent campers, backpackers, and those with smaller tent trailers, camper vans, and RVs under 25 feet. Most campsites do not have electricity and water connections, though centrally located water spigots, clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities are available throughout. The facility maintains a quiet, family-friendly atmosphere with evening quiet hours enforced, and offers amenities including free Wi-Fi in select areas, charging stations, a camp store, and a recreation hall.
