Mount Pisgah Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds along the Blue Ridge Parkway, perched at an elevation of 4,980 feet in the rolling mountains of western North Carolina. Surrounded by dense hardwood forests, the campground offers a cool respite from summer heat and spectacular sunrise and sunset views from nearby overlooks. The area is rich in history, once part of George Vanderbilt's holdings and the site of his hunting camp house, Buck Springs. Visitors can enjoy several hiking trails ranging from moderate to strenuous, including the Frying Pan Trail, Buck Spring Trail, and Shut-In Trail. Modern amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, dump stations, and a country store, with both RV and tent sites available. The campground is often full on weekends and holidays, with some sites available on a first-come, first-served basis.
