Morganton Point Campground is located in the Blue Ridge Ranger District within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in northeast Georgia's mountains. The campground sits adjacent to Lake Blue Ridge, a stunning 3,290-acre reservoir known for its aquamarine waters and over 60 miles of shoreline surrounded by forested Blue Ridge Mountain foothills. The recreation area offers year-round activities including camping, boating, swimming, fishing, and hiking. Each campsite is equipped with tables and campfire rings with grills, and the facility provides accessible showers and drinking water. The lake is open to both motorized and non-motorized watercraft, making it ideal for fishing enthusiasts seeking bass and other freshwater species, as well as water sports enthusiasts. Day-use hiking trails, including the Appalachian and Benton MacKave trails, offer scenic forest walks with lakeshore views.
