Middle Creek Campground is a small, family-owned mountain campground nestled in a holler of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the foot of Fork Mountain in Buchanan, Virginia. Situated as a Dark Sky paradise, the campground offers an ideal base camp for outdoor adventures including access to the upper James River, the Appalachian Trail, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Located approximately 30 miles north of Roanoke/Salem and 15 miles south of Lexington along the I-81 corridor, the campground is accessible via a scenic 6.2-mile country road that winds through diverse mountain scenery, crossing the James River and Jennings Creek through the Jefferson National Forest. The property features 30 and 50 amp RV sites with water and electric hookups, as well as full hookup options. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, fishing, kayaking on the James River, swimming holes, and recreational activities like cornhole and karaoke, making it an excellent destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking to unplug and reconnect with nature.
