Methodist Cove Park is located on the west side of Harlan County Lake near Alma, Nebraska, offering access to the state's second-largest lake spanning 13,000 acres. The campground features 133 campsites with a mix of electric and non-electric options, set within a mostly forested landscape that provides ample shade during summer months. Situated in South Central Nebraska's mixed grass prairie region, the area has rich historical significance as a former hunting ground for Native American tribes and home to vast buffalo herds. The park provides excellent recreational opportunities including fishing for walleye, wipers, white bass, northern pike, and channel catfish, along with hunting, boating, and hiking on trails of varying lengths. Amenities include a heated shower house with flush toilets, vault toilets throughout the park, a dump station, drinking water, playground, boat ramp, and a fish cleaning station.
