Malad Summit Guard Station is a secluded retreat located in a forested setting in narrow Mill Creek Drainage, offering scenic high country views. The rustic one-room cabin, established in 1934, can sleep six people and features amenities such as a wood stove, induction stove, and vault toilet. Guests should be prepared for snowy conditions, as the cabin is accessible by car only when there is no snow. The surrounding area offers various recreational activities, including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and fishing. Black bears, wolves, elk, and other wildlife species are native to the area. Guests are expected to clean the cabin and pack out their trash before leaving. The cabin is managed by Pinnacle Parks Llc under a special use permit with the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
