About

The Lake Linden Village Campground was developed in 1980 for residents and visitors to the village and surrounding Torch Lake area. Located near the swimming area, the campground offers 27 sites with water and electric service and rustic sites for tenting. The adjacent Village Park has a large Tot-Lot play area, baseball field, basketball court, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, boat launch, walking trail, and an 18-hole disc golf course. The nearby Traprock River provides excellent canoeing. The campground is within walking distance of convenience stores, four restaurants, groceries, hardware store, and the Houghton County Museum, which features steam engine rides throughout the summer. For a town its size, the Village of Lake Linden boasts a wide array of recreational activities and even more recreational options are available within a short drive. The surrounding area has two ski resorts, hundreds of miles of snowmobile/RV trails, boating and fishing on inland lakes with access to Lake Superior, and two nearby universities - Michigan Tech University and Finlandia University - have full complements of sports teams and events highlighted by the Michigan Tech huskies Division I hockey program.
