About
The Gila National Forest has 3.3 million acres to explore, with dozens of developed campgrounds and opportunities for dispersed camping. The forest offers over 1,600 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, as well as motorized routes for OHV riding and scenic driving. Visitors can learn about cultural history at the Gila Cliff Dwellings, the Historical Fort Bayard Museum, the Catwalk, and discover traces of those who passed before us. With three designated wilderness areas and 3,300 miles of motorized routes, there's no shortage of opportunities for outdoor recreation.
