Camp Shuler is a part of the Longhorn Council, Scouting America. The Longhorn Council alone spends around 130,000 hours annually in service activities. From fundraising to volunteering, one key to an enriched and successful life is learning to help others in need. The council has various programs such as Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring. The Longhorn Council has several camp properties including Camp Tahuaya, Sid Richardson Scout Ranch, and Worth Ranch. Camp Tahuaya is a family adventure campground. The Longhorn Council is dedicated to teaching youth the values of service to others, good citizenship, and appreciation for nature. The council also has a strong focus on leadership and teamwork, as well as self-discovery. The Longhorn Council serves the community through various service projects and volunteer opportunities. Scouts in the Longhorn Council have completed various service projects, including replacing a walking bridge, placing flags at a cemetery, and completing Eagle Projects such as laying down artificial turf at an elementary school playground. The Longhorn Council is a great place for youth to learn and grow through Scouting.
