The Shawnee National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including camping and cabins. The forest is located in southern Illinois and covers over 270,000 acres. Visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, and horseback riding on the many trails, as well as fishing and boating on the lakes and rivers. The forest also has several scenic drives and picnic areas. The Hidden Springs Ranger District and Mississippi Bluffs Ranger District offer different experiences within the forest.
