YMCA Camp Shaver is a historic overnight camp located in the beautiful Jemez Mountains of New Mexico, serving youth from across New Mexico and the Southwest since 1945. Situated at 22900 Highway 4 in Jemez Springs, the camp provides a safe and inspiring setting where children develop self-esteem, personal character, teamwork, community connection, and environmental appreciation. The camp offers multiple program options including Traditional Camp for ages 7-13 and Adventure Camp for ages 13-16, featuring diverse activities such as archery, climbing, cooking, drama, fishing, riflery, high ropes courses, hiking, and overnight campouts. All programs emphasize the core values of responsibility, respect, caring, and honesty, with a focus on helping children gain a sense of accomplishment, belonging, and character development during their "home away from home" experience.
