The Woods Ferry River Camp is a part of the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail, a partnership of locations along the river to provide amenities to trail users. The trail is a chain of public and private campsites that make traveling the picturesque Suwannee River an enjoyable excursion. The river camps are accessible by river only, with no vehicles or overnight parking permitted. Each river camp features five screened sleeping platforms, primitive campsites, hot showers, restrooms, grills, picnic tables, and a picnic pavilion. There is no charge to stay at river camps, and all platforms and campsites are available for reservations. The Suwannee River starts small as it flows from the Okeefenokee Swamp in South Georgia, and paddlers and photographers enjoy breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. The upper Suwannee River flows through towering pines and stately cypress, with limestone cliffs and outcroppings plus white sandbars making it an ideal setting for picnics and leisurely canoe or kayak outings.
