Windy Point Group Campground is located near Dillon Reservoir at an elevation of 9,000 feet in the White River National Forest. The site consists of a group camp and a group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 100 people each. With views to Dillon Reservoir and several mountain ranges, Windy Point is ideal for larger groups seeking recreation and relaxation. Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade at Windy Point. The campground has two sites for reservation: Lake Loop and Forest Loop, both of which can accommodate tents, trailers, and RV's within the designated area on hardened gravel surfaces only. There is no electric hook-ups but potable water is available at a spigot in each loop. Boat launch access is via several marinas along the east shore of Lake Dillon to the shoreline at the Lake Loop. The shoreline is available for public use and there are several trails which travel through the campground and terminate at the lakeshore. Keep this in mind when considering this site, it is not a private facility, the public may be along the shoreline, walking the trails or walking the road during your event.
