About

The Chippewa National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The forest is divided into several recreation regions, including the Blackduck Area and the Cass Lake Area. The Blackduck Ranger District is located in the northwest part of the forest and offers a great stop for Forest information, maps, and permits. The Cass Lake Area is home to the Chippewa National Forest Supervisor’s Office, which features notched logs and hammered iron from the Civilian Conservation Corps. The forest is open for recreation and offers a range of activities for visitors to enjoy.
