White Earth Campground is located on the banks of Canyon Ferry Reservoir, just east of Winston, Montana, nestled in an open valley between the Big Belt and Elkhorn mountain ranges. The campground features 36 designated campsites and a group use shelter, offering access to year-round recreational opportunities on the reservoir. The area holds historical significance as part of the Lewis and Clark expedition route from 1805, where Sacagawea recognized the landscape near the three forks of the Missouri River. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of water activities including swimming, fishing, sailing, motor-boating, kayaking, canoeing, water skiing, and windsurfing during summer months, while winter brings ice fishing and ice skating. The campground is conveniently located halfway between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park, with Helena, Montana's state capital, just 25 miles away.
