The West Lake Day Use Area is a part of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests & Pawnee National Grassland. The area offers various recreation opportunities, including biking, climbing and caving, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The Boulder Ranger District, which encompasses over one hundred thousand acres of the Front Range, is a part of this area. The district offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation and exploration.
