Founded in 1969, Walker Island Family Camping is a unique 85-acre campground located in the foothills of the Berkshires, formed by Walker Brook and an old granite railroad connected by a 47-foot bridge. The campground offers 90 sites on multiple levels accommodating tents, campers, and RVs. Open from May 1st through Columbus Day Weekend, Walker Island provides a distinctive camping experience in America's cultural resort region. Guests can enjoy proximity to world-renowned attractions including Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakespeare & Co., the Norman Rockwell Museum, and Jacob's Ladder Trail. The area also features local waterfalls, a historic granite quarry, Keystone Arches, and seasonal events like Chester on Track in May, along with nearby attractions such as Six Flags and the Basketball Hall of Fame.
