Choctaw Lake Campground is a scenic recreation area nestled in the Tombigbee National Forest of Mississippi, wrapping around the picturesque 100-acre Choctaw Lake. Located between Cabin Lake and Choctaw Lake, the campground offers nearly two dozen campsites with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and campfire rings. The area is a hub for outdoor recreation, featuring fishing opportunities for largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and crappie, as well as boating, swimming, and hiking. Visitors can enjoy an accessible walking trail around the lake or tackle a moderate 3-mile trail departing from the campground, with chances to spot various birds and wildlife. The campground is conveniently located 5 miles south of Ackerman, 11 miles northwest of Louisville, and near popular regional attractions including the Natchez Trace Parkway, Noxubee Wildlife Refuge, and French Camp.
