Carson National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, and winter sports. The forest is divided into several regions, each with its own unique features and attractions. Visitors can explore the Abiquiu region, known for its breathtaking views of the Rio Chama Valley, or the Cabresto Canyon area, which is popular for camping and access to the Latir Peaks Wilderness. The Colorado Borderlands region is a large area of rolling grassland surrounded by conifers, ponderosa, and aspen stands.
