Trampas Medio Campground is located in the Carson National Forest. The campground offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, and off-highway vehicles. The surrounding area is known for its breathtaking views of large landscapes in the Rio Chama Valley. The campground is a popular area for camping and the main launch point into the Latir Peaks Wilderness. Visitors can also explore the Abiquiu, Cabresto Canyon, Colorado Borderlands, and El Rito areas, which offer scenic drives, picnicking, and winter sports.
