About

The Wolfe City Rail Trail is a 67-mile trail that connects four counties in North East Texas. It is part of the Chaparral Rails to Trails Inc. and the regional NorthEast Texas Trail (NETT) system, spanning over 130 miles and 19 communities. The trail traverses from Farmersville to New Boston, passing through 19 rural towns and 7 counties. It is the longest Hike/Bike trail in Texas and the 5th longest in the U.S.A., attracting avid trail users from around the nation. The trail surface varies between dirt and gravel, with some low areas that hold water and mud after rains. There are also some bridges with open cross ties and ties in poor condition or missing. The trail is suitable for mountain and hybrid bikes, as well as hiking. The public is asked to contact the person listed for each trail town to make reservations for camping. There are also parking areas at intersections of the trail with roads. The trail is surrounded by local attractions, including the Annual City Rodeo, Annual Car/Truck Show Geocache, and Picnic Area. The trail is also close to hotels, restaurants, and other amenities.
