About

Tollgate Campground/Day Use Area is located in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The campground offers dispersed camping, where visitors can enjoy the peace and solitude of the forest. The area provides various recreation opportunities, including biking, climbing and caving, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, off-highway vehicles (OHV), water activities, and winter sports. The Barlow Ranger District, which encompasses about 280,000 acres, is located east of the Cascades crest. A valid Sno-Park Permit is required for parking November 1 to April 30 at almost all Mt. Hood sno-parks. The area is subject to erosion hazards, winter storms, and avalanches, and visitors should be aware of the rules and regulations for parking, camping, and more.
