Timber Creek South Campground is a primitive camping facility located on Milford Lake, Kansas's largest man-made lake with 15,700 acres of surface area and 163 miles of shoreline. The campground offers visitors beautiful sunsets and easy access to outdoor recreation while maintaining proximity to nearby small towns. All campsites are within walking and viewing distance of the lake, which is fed by the Republican River. The surrounding 33,000 acres of public, protected land provides excellent opportunities for hiking, swimming, hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, and off-road vehicle use. The area is particularly known for blue catfish and hunting, with nearly 70% of land resources available for public hunting. Nearby attractions include hiking trails such as the Waterfall Trail and Crystal Trail, a wildlife viewing tower, and the Milford Education Center and Fish Hatchery located below the dam.
