About

Kalispell Island Boat-IN Campground is a remote, water-accessible camping destination located on Kalispell Island in Priest Lake, Idaho, part of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The 264-acre island, the largest of seven islands in the lake, offers 52 campsites (51 single sites and one group site for 10-30 people) that can only be reached by boat, providing a truly rugged and rewarding camping experience. Situated at 2,400 feet elevation on one of Idaho's top three largest lakes, the campground is surrounded by the natural beauty of Northern Idaho and the Selkirk Mountains, with clear blue waters reaching depths of 300 feet. Visitors can enjoy a 2.5-mile loop trail around the island for hiking and bird watching, access to world-class fishing for Mackinaw trout and other species, and water activities including kayaking and canoeing to the scenic Upper Priest Lake. The campground is a pack-in, pack-out facility with minimal amenities, requiring visitors to bring their own water and portable toilets, making it ideal for those seeking an authentic backcountry camping experience.
