About

Welcome to the Three Mile Lake Recreation Area, Union County's largest recreational facility and family destination site. Located approximately 70 miles south and west of Des Moines, the area offers numerous recreational activities, including camping, fishing, swimming, hunting, cabin rentals, and lodge rental. The lake has acres of underwater structures, making it one of the best fish habitats in Iowa. Visitors can bring their own boat or use one of the 13 fishing jetties, or explore nearly 24 miles of shoreline. The area also features a swimming beach, wheelchair-accessible fishing pier, and hundreds of acres of cover and food plots teeming with songbirds, waterfowl, and upland game.
