The Dalles Campground is situated on the banks of the White River in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, offering stunning scenery and access to diverse recreational activities within the Cascade region. The campground features widely-spaced sites scattered beneath a towering canopy of diverse forest, with many sites located at the water's edge. Facilities include picnic tables, campfire rings with grills at each site, vault toilets, and drinking water throughout the campground. A historic picnic shelter constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps is available for reservation or on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campground is hemmed in by several designated wilderness areas and provides views of Mt. Rainier, the highest mountain in Washington at 14,411 feet. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails for all abilities, including the half-mile barrier-free John Muir Nature Trail, and fly fishing on the White River for salmon and trout. The area is home to wildlife including mountain goats, coyotes, and pine marten.
