About
The Idaho Panhandle National Forests comprise about 2.5 million acres of public lands surrounding vibrant communities and rich in adventure. The forest offers various recreation opportunities, including biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, picnicking, scenic drives, water activities, and winter sports. The forest is divided into five regions, each centered around one or more distinctive features: Priest Lake, Lower Kootenai River, Pend Oreille Lake, Coeur d'Alene River, and St. Joe River. Visitors can choose an activity and see where on the forest it is offered or note the area they'd like to stay or explore and discover the recreation opportunities.
