Tawney Farm, LLC, is a small-scale wool sheep farm in the Mountain Lakes region of central West Virginia. The farm is nestled in the Gauley River gorge, adjacent to the beautiful Gauley River National Recreation Area and just a short drive to the New River Gorge National Park. The farm offers a unique alternative to commercial campgrounds with its Gauley River Wild & Woolly Primitive Campground. Visitors can enjoy peaceful and private primitive camping on the mountain farm, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the gorge. The farm is also home to a miniature horse, chickens, and several cats, and offers access to nature trails. In addition to camping, the farm is an outdoor venue for special events such as family reunions, private parties, music festivals, corporate retreats, or group meetings. The region has plenty to offer, including the nearby Carnifex Ferry Battleground State Park, Babcock State Park with its iconic grist mill and waterfall, and Summersville Lake and Dam.
