This is a primitive campsite with breathtaking views, located just up the canyon from Southern Utah University's campus and a short way down the canyon from the SUU Mountain Center. The sheepherder’s camp has a covered pavilion, fire pit area and vault toilet great for small outdoor gatherings during the months of July - October. The road to this location is 0.5 miles off SR 14 and unpaved. This location is truly rustic, it does NOT have running water, or trash removal. Everything you need must be brought in, and also removed. During the summer months this is also an active sheep grazing area, but the camping area is enclosed and separate from the sheep. It is an ideal spot for those who want to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the peace and quiet of the wilderness.
