Susan Creek Campground is a scenic 29-site campground nestled along the emerald-green waters of the North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River on the western edge of the Cascade Mountains. Set beneath a mature forest canopy with trees up to seven feet in diameter, the campground offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by majestic fir, cedar, and hemlock trees. Located just past milepost 28 on Highway 138, it provides easy access to the expansive Umpqua National Forest's 984,602 acres of pristine wilderness. The campground features multiple amenities including drinking water spigots, flush restrooms, nature trails, and an amphitheater where educational programs are presented on summer weekends. Visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing (fly-fishing only), wildlife viewing, and relaxation while listening to the rushing river. The area is centrally located for accessing nearby attractions including the 79-mile North Umpqua Trail, Susan Creek Falls, and the scenic Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway.
