Located 25 miles west of Riverton, Pilot Butte Reservoir is a recreation area managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. The reservoir offers year-round fishing with Wyoming State license, and the available fish species include trout, ling, and crappie. Limited shoreline access is provided via roads. The area also features picnic/camping shelters, an accessible restroom, and a boat ramp. However, there is no drinking water available. Other activities in the area include swimming, hiking, and watchable wildlife. The reservoir has approximately 1,000 surface acres and 7 miles of shoreline available for recreation.
