About

Stillhouse Park is a day-use area located on the shores of Stillhouse Hollow Lake in central Texas, approximately 16 miles upstream of the confluence of the Lampasas and Leon Rivers. Created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with the construction of Stillhouse Hollow Dam in 1968, the 6,430-acre lake features 58 miles of shoreline with rocky beaches, sandy bluffs, and forested areas. The park offers two reservable group pavilions (Island View and Tear Drop), each accommodating up to 120 visitors, along with nearly 40 individual picnic sites and a swimming beach. Visitors can enjoy fishing for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and channel catfish, boating, swimming, and various land-based activities including volleyball, basketball, and horseshoes. The park is notably uncrowded and popular for family gatherings and large group events, with the lake's only marina and fuel dock located within the park.
