Welcome to Wilderness Camping! Located in the Western Mountains of Maine in the Rangeley Lakes Region, this preserve offers 67 waterfront campsites on mainland, Students Island, Toothaker Island, and Western Shore. The campsites include water views, a picnic table, a fire pit, and access to an outhouse. Explore the scenic hiking trails on Students Island. The preserve is surrounded by 6,000+ acres of preserved land on Mooselookmeguntic Lake. It's a beautiful, rustic camping experience with no electricity, no showers, and no RVs. Sometimes it's not what you have but what you don't have! The preserve is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-September.
