Steel Wheel Campground & Trading Post is a family-owned and operated 12-acre retreat located in the heart of the Black Hills, just six miles south of historic Deadwood, South Dakota, along US-385 at approximately 5,300 feet elevation. The campground offers a variety of accommodations including modern cabin rentals, park-model cabins, full-hookup RV sites with 30/50 amp service, and a 12-person lodge rental. Guests enjoy amenities such as hot showers, clean restrooms, laundry facilities, a dump station, WiFi, cellular service, an on-site gas station, and easy access to hiking, biking, ATV, and OTV trails. The Trading Post at the heart of the campground provides fuel, supplies, deli fare, and seasonal daily specials from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The location offers convenient access to major Black Hills attractions including Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and numerous outdoor recreation opportunities.
