About
The Umpqua National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including camping and cabins, climbing and caving, fishing, horse riding and camping, hunting & shooting, outdoor science and learning, picnicking, scenic drives, and winter sports. The forest is divided into three ranger districts: Cottage Grove, Diamond Lake, and North Umpqua. Each district offers unique experiences, from lush mixed conifer forests and mountain creeks to access to three different wilderness areas. Visitors can enjoy scenic drives, hiking, and exploring the forest's many lakes and waterfalls. The forest is managed by the U.S. Forest Service and is open to the public for recreation and exploration.
