About
The Malheur National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities, including camping and cabin rentals. The forest has 4 former guard stations that have been converted into cabins for rent. Visitors can enjoy activities such as biking, fishing, hiking, horse riding and camping, hunting and shooting, off-highway vehicles, outdoor science and learning, picnicking, water activities, and winter sports. The forest also has a campground with amenities such as fire updates and information, closures and alerts, weather forecasts, recreation passes, and rules and recommendations on dispersed camping. The Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (REA) requires at least 80% of the fees to stay on the forests and grasslands where they were collected and reinvest that money to support local site operations and maintenance.
