Shabbona Lake State Park is a 1,550-acre man-made fishing lake located just miles west of Chicago off U.S. 30, offering a natural haven from urban life. The park is renowned as the home of 4 state record muskies and is stocked with large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, rock bass, crappie, catfish, walleye, and perch. The semi-wooded campground features 150 Class A sites with electricity, showers, and vehicular access, along with a boat launch, playground, and kid's fishing area. Beyond fishing, visitors can enjoy over eight miles of scenic hiking and cross-country skiing trails, boat rentals including Lund fishing boats, pontoons, kayaks, and paddle boards, as well as dining at the popular Pokanoka's Café with lake views. The park provides comprehensive facilities for picnicking, camping, hunting, and winter sports in an unspoiled natural environment.
