Nestled in the foothills of the western Maine mountains, Sandy River Camping is situated on 40 private acres along the beautiful Sandy River. The campsite offers a unique and special place for people to experience camping in a non-traditional way. Strategically placed campsites provide privacy, tranquility, and a personal piece of paradise. For those interested, farm experiences with alpacas are available, including halter training, herd health, basic daily chores, and skirting fleece. A guided hike on the property with an alpaca is also offered. In season, guests can enjoy U-pick blueberries and fresh vegetables grown in multiple raised beds for purchase. The campsite features a community gathering room, private beach, multiple hiking trails, a horseshoe pit, basketball hoop, ping pong table, and corn hole. Nearby, guests can find plenty of activities to enjoy, as outlined in the interactive guidebook.
