About
This is a park with two distinct sides: the high-country side, reachable via the Palm Spring Aerial Tramway or steep trails, offers stunning views and features granite peaks, sub-alpine forests and mountain meadows, and three mountain peaks higher than 10,000 feet in elevation, including San Jacinto Peak, which, at 10,834 feet, is the highest peak in the California State Park System. The other side, located in the quaint mountain town of Idyllwild, offers two quiet campgrounds with town amenities nearby.
